New Hampshire HB 1680 - a comprehensive privacy bill

New Hampshire’s HB 1680 was introduced by Representative Greg Indruk [D].  This privacy bill aims to:

  • grant consumers the right to request that a business disclose the type of personal information it collects, the purpose for which it is collected, and the categories of third parties with which it is shared
  • authorizes consumers to opt out of the sale of their personal information
  • establishes a private right of action
  • provides for further enforcement by the attorney general ($2,500 – $7,500 per violation)
