Nebraska State Senators introduced the Nebraska Consumer Data Privacy Act (Legislative Bill 746) in January 2020. Basic consumer rights outlined in the bill included:  data subject access requests, a right to deletion and a right to general transparency on how data is being used by an organization.

The legislature decided to indefinitely postpone further discussion on this bill in August 2020.
