Illinois HB2404, dubbed the “Right to Know Act,” is assigned to the Cybersecurity, Data Analytics, & IT Committee and is currently scheduled for a hearing on March 19.

In March 2020, two Illinois legislators proposed Protecting Household Privacy Act, a bill requiring smart devices to disclose how customer information is shared with third parties. This bill contains language that would require all third parties receiving such personal data to be called out on a company’s website.
